Rare wooden-cased Apple-1 computer blasts past auctioneer estimate — sells for almost half a million dollars
A rare Apple-1 computer in a wooden case sold for $475,000 at an auction in Boston, far exceeding the estimated $300,000. The computer, one of only nine surviving examples, was fully functional and came with extra provenance as the 'Moore Apple-1'. The auction also included a signed Apple Computer Company check by Steve Jobs that sold for $46,250.
