In a six-month DVD rewritable endurance test, TDK discs emerged as the top performer with the ability to withstand 1,000 rewrites, although they are no longer manufactured. Verbatim and Memorex discs did not fare well in the tests. The testing methodology involved automated processes using Python scripts and a Lite-On iHAS120 6 drive. The study highlighted the dominance of DVD-RW over DVD+RW discs in endurance. Currently, only a few brands like Verbatim, Maxell, Ridata, and SmartBuy offer rewritable DVD media on platforms like Amazon.
