Microsoft is testing a new Windows 11 feature called "Low Latency Profile" that aims to speed up app launches by briefly maxing out the CPU frequency. This unique approach is part of Project K2, which focuses on improving user experience. The feature boosts CPU speed for 1-3 seconds, benefiting first-party Microsoft applications like Edge and Outlook with up to 40% faster launch times. Other native Windows features, such as the Start menu, also see significant speed improvements of up to 70%. While the feature is automatically enabled in Windows Insider builds, it may become user-controlled in the final release, although a specific release date is not yet known.
