LG produces the world's first mass-production LCD laptop display capable of 1 Hz to save power — OLED version arriving in 2027

LG has introduced the world's first mass-produced 120 Hz LCD laptop display that can scale down to 1 Hz, offering significant power savings. This technology, utilizing an Oxide TFT display, automatically adjusts the refresh rate based on screen activity, resulting in 48% greater battery efficiency compared to current solutions. LG plans to release OLED versions of these displays starting in 2027.
