India is still working on sewer robots

In India, efforts are ongoing to replace manual scavenging in sewers with safer mechanical methods. Companies like Genrobotics have developed robots like the Bandicoot Robot to perform these tasks, reducing the risks faced by manual workers. Despite the availability of such technology, there are still over 58,000 manual scavengers in India, indicating the need for broader adoption of these solutions. Challenges remain in integrating these robots effectively into existing drainage systems, requiring a comprehensive approach to address infrastructure differences.
