Intel's Fab 52 is bigger and better equipped than TSMC's Arizona facilities — Intel's production volume dwarfs TSMC's operations in the U.S.

Intel's Fab 52 in Arizona surpasses TSMC's U.S. facilities in size and technology, with a production volume that outstrips TSMC's operations. Fab 52 boasts advanced capabilities for producing chips on Intel's 18A and more advanced process technologies, including gate-all-around transistors and PowerVia backside power delivery. Equipped with cutting-edge lithography systems, the facility can process up to 40,000 wafer starts per month. Despite TSMC's upcoming Fab 21 phase 2, Intel's Fab 52 remains on par or ahead due to its more sophisticated production node. Intel aims to achieve world-class yields by early 2027 for its 18A technology.
