A Reddit user successfully flashed a Radeon RX 9070 XT BIOS onto a non-XT variant, resulting in a 25% performance boost in synthetic benchmarks and 8-12% improvement in gaming performance. The user utilized an open-source tool for the vBIOS flash. While the performance gains were noticeable in benchmarks, actual gaming performance saw a more modest increase. This method, although effective, may void warranties and carries a risk of damaging the GPU. Another user previously achieved a 15-20% performance boost by flashing an RX 9070 with an XT BIOS.
