IEEE Considers Safety Guidelines for Neurotech Consumer Products
IEEE is developing a new standard, P7700, to establish safety guidelines for consumer neurotechnology products. This standard aims to create consistent definitions for the design, development, and usage of non-medical neurodevices, such as brainwave-reading gadgets. The guidelines will cover products like audio headsets that monitor brainwave activity to enhance brain function. The proposed standard seeks to ensure the safety and ethical use of neurotech consumer products.
