Meta to fund seven new natural gas power plants to fuel AI data centers — Entergy partnership to deliver 7 gigawatts of power for Louisiana AI facility

Meta has partnered with Entergy to fund the construction of seven new natural gas power plants to support its AI data centers, adding 5.2 gigawatts of electricity to the Hyperion campus in Louisiana. This expansion will bring the total number of natural gas facilities serving Hyperion to 10, providing over 7 gigawatts of power. In addition to the power plants, Meta will finance new transmission lines, battery energy storage systems, and nuclear power uprates. The agreement also includes Meta's commitment to help fund up to 2.5GW of new renewable energy resources and explore the future development of nuclear power.
