Intel's 14nm+++ desktop CPUs are making a comeback — chipmaker inexplicably resurrects Comet Lake from five years ago with 'new' Core i5-110

Intel has resurrected its Comet Lake architecture with the introduction of the Core i5-110 processor, part of the Core Series 1 family. This desktop chip features a six-core, 12-thread configuration with a base clock speed of 2.9 GHz and a turbo boost clock speed up to 4.3 GHz. Despite being a rebranded version of the Core i5-10400, the Core i5-110 is priced at $200, similar to its predecessor. The 14nm+++ chip is compatible with LGA1200 sockets and Intel 400-series or 500-series motherboards, but its value proposition is questionable given its age and pricing.
