Ambitious modder bolts a 360mm server AIO onto an RTX 3080, slashes VRAM temps in half — enormous workstation cooler powers 54 degree drop, 9% performance uplift

Australian overclocker and YouTuber Trashbench creatively attached an Arctic WS360 360mm server AIO cooler to a GeForce RTX 3080, significantly reducing VRAM temperatures by half and boosting performance by 9%. The large cold plate of the server cooler, designed for workstation CPUs, covered the GPU core and memory modules effectively. Despite challenges in fitting the cooler due to its size, the results were impressive, with a 54°C drop in VRAM temperature and significant performance gains. The mod showcased the untapped potential of modern GPUs when thermal limits are addressed, but replicating it at home is not recommended due to the complexity and cost involved.
