The study, conducted by Zhejiang University and Beijing Institute of Technology, simulated a scenario where drones would form an internet-blocking mesh over Taiwan. The research suggests that around 935 to 2,000 coordinated interference nodes would be needed for a successful blockade. Taiwan, home to tech giants like TSMC, is investing in drone defense systems to counter such threats, possibly even considering an Iron Dome-inspired protective network.
