Accelerator-Equipped MCU Brings Greater Access to AI in Cars

STMicroelectronics has introduced the Stellar P3E, an automotive microcontroller with the Neural-ART Accelerator, enhancing AI inference operations significantly. By utilizing a dedicated NPU, the MCU accelerates inference execution and supports real-time AI-based virtual sensing. The Neural-ART Accelerator embedded in silicon enables instantaneous AI inference for improved powertrain control without extra hardware. The MCU also features advanced capabilities like lockstep and split-lock cores, high-performance ADC channels, and an Ethernet interface for automotive applications. Samples are available in limited quantities, with full production expected by the end of 2026.
