Singapore’s Famous Merlion Statue Now a 3D Printed Toy Made From Plastic Bottles
Singapore's famous Merlion statue has been reimagined as a 3D printed toy by Uniplay, made from around 30 recycled plastic bottles. Initially released as a limited-edition surprise box for Singapore's 60th National Day, the toy quickly sold out, prompting the release of a new white version. The Fortune Merlion figurine, standing at 18 centimeters tall, includes a secret compartment with charm tokens and features colorful magnetic bubbles that snap onto its mouth. This sustainable project, created in collaboration with local organizations, showcases the intersection of 3D design, sustainability, and reimagining cultural symbols while supporting the circular economy by repurposing waste.
