Snapdragon X1 Elite Linux laptop cancelled due to performance concerns — Linux PC maker says Qualcomm CPU is ‘less suitable for Linux than expected’

Linux PC maker Tuxedo Computers has halted the development of a Qualcomm Snapdragon X1 Elite Linux laptop due to performance issues. The company found the X1E less suitable for Linux than anticipated and faced challenges with battery life, BIOS updates, fan control, virtualization, USB4 speeds, and video decoding. With the upcoming Snapdragon X2 Elite on the horizon, Tuxedo decided not to release an outdated X1E laptop. However, they remain open to potentially resuming development with the X2E if it proves more compatible with Linux.
