Qualcomm has acquired Arduino to enhance accessibility to AI development, with Arduino's hardware forming the foundation of Qualcomm's edge AI stack. The acquisition includes the launch of a new Arduino Uno Q board and Arduino App Lab IDE software. Qualcomm plans to integrate Arduino microcontrollers into its edge-device AI platform. Despite the acquisition, Qualcomm assures that Arduino will maintain its open approach and independent brand. The new Arduino Uno Q, featuring a Qualcomm DragonWing CPU and STM32U585 microcontroller, is priced competitively with Raspberry Pi and aims to work with the new Arduino App Lab IDE.
