At TSMC's annual Sports Day, CEO C.C. Wei's custom-made TSMC-branded sneakers stole the show, outshining Nvidia's Jensen Huang. The shoes were actually part of a business pitch made back in 2017 by a shoemaker from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The shoemaker, surprised by the sudden attention, revealed that he had sent a sample to TSMC's then-Chairman Morris Chang. Both Wei and the shoemaker hinted at a potential collaboration, with TSMC considering making the branded sneakers official merchandise. The news sparked excitement for a potential partnership similar to tech giants and sports brands like Microsoft & Adidas, Apple & Nike, and Sony & Nike.
