HUDIMM utilizes a unique architecture with half the bandwidth and capacity of traditional DDR5, making it a more affordable option. ASRock is also developing HSODIMM for laptops. The HUDIMM design allows for asymmetrical dual-channel support, enabling users to mix different DDR5 RAM modules for increased bandwidth. Asus has also showcased support for HUDIMM, hinting at a potential industry-wide adoption and the prospect of more budget-friendly DDR5 options in the future.
