MSI Afterburner adds 16-pin power connector warning for its MPG AI PSUs — new update could save your expensive GPU from melting

MSI Afterburner has introduced a new update, version 4.6.7, that includes a warning system for the 16-pin power connector on its MPG AI PSUs. This feature aims to protect high-power GPUs like the RTX 5080 and 5090 from potential overheating issues. The update will trigger a warning message if a fault is detected in the 16-pin connection, helping prevent GPU damage. The feature, GPU Safeguard+, is specifically designed for the MPG Ai1300TS and MPG Ai1600TS power supplies, offering added protection against potential meltdowns. Additionally, the update also adds support for MSI's RTX 5090 LIGHTNING series GPUs for extreme overclocking.
