Microsoft is focusing on optimizing Windows 11 for gaming by improving background workload management, power and scheduling, graphics stack, and drivers. The company has launched the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handheld consoles in collaboration with Asus, offering exclusive features like Xbox full screen experience and Advanced Shader Delivery. Microsoft plans to expand Xbox FSE to Windows PCs in 2026, providing a controller-first interface for launching games quickly and consolidating game libraries from various stores. Auto Super Resolution and Advanced Shader Delivery enhancements are also in the works to improve gaming performance on Windows 11 devices. More updates will be shared at the Game Developers Conference in March 2026.
