Micron starts building new 3D NAND fab in Singapore – Fab 10B promises to more than double the company's local flash production capacity

Micron has initiated the construction of a new 3D NAND fab, Fab 10B, in Singapore, which will cost $24 billion and take over 10 years to complete. This new facility will more than double Micron's local flash production capacity and will be the first double-story wafer fab in Singapore. It is designed to support multiple next-generation 3D NAND manufacturing technologies and will focus on producing high-capacity 3D NAND devices for AI and data center applications. The fab is expected to create around 1,600 new jobs, with a total of about 3,000 new positions when combined with the roles associated with the HBM packaging facility.
