Linux Mint 22.2 ‘Zara’ released with native fingerprint support – also has a new syncing sticky note system

Linux Mint 22.2 'Zara' has been released, offering long-term support until 2029 and various enhancements like native fingerprint support with Fingwit and a new syncing sticky note system. The update includes improvements to theming, the software manager, and a revamped login screen. The new Sticky Notes app can sync with an Android companion app and is compatible with Wayland. The Software Manager has been visually improved, and the Update Manager now suggests system reboots when necessary. Users can easily update from Mint 22 or 22.1 or choose from Cinnamon, Xfce, or MATE desktop environments when downloading the ISO.
