Intel has confirmed that the rumored Core Ultra 9 290K Plus has been scrapped, along with the potential Core Ultra 9 285KS Special Edition, as the Arrow Lake refresh is rolled out. The decision to cancel the 290K Plus was likely due to its minor improvements over the 270K Plus, making it a less valuable product. Despite leaked benchmarks showing a performance boost over the 285K, the 290K Plus won't be released. Additionally, Intel has surprised many by not releasing a Special Edition SKU for the Arrow Lake generation, breaking a trend of Special Edition flagship releases.
