TrashBench, a GPU overclocker, achieved a world record by using a simple setup involving chilled car antifreeze and a pond pump to cool an Intel Arc B580 GPU to -17 degrees Celsius. This sub-zero cooling allowed for a 16% performance increase, reaching a 3DMark Time Spy score of 16,631. Despite facing some limitations due to the coolant warming up during testing, the modified GPU still outperformed the stock configuration by hitting 69, 174, and 120 FPS in various games. TrashBench's experiment showcased the potential for significant performance gains with extreme cooling methods.
