The collector, known as CPU Duke, received the chip from a computer museum in Switzerland and meticulously documented the process of creating the die shot. The die shot reveals details like the 18-pin bond pad connectors, markings indicating the chip's origin and designer, and the structure of the chip's semiconducting polysilicon.
