Cadence’s HiFi DSP Purpose-Built for Next-Gen Voice AI and Audio

Cadence has introduced the HiFi iQ, a new generation of its Tensilica HiFi DSP designed for emerging voice AI interfaces and immersive audio standards. The HiFi iQ offers 2X more raw compute performance and 8X more AI acceleration compared to its predecessor, while reducing power consumption by over 25%. It features upgraded vector processing capabilities and increased AI accelerator units to run algorithms for active noise cancellation, beamforming, keyword spotting, and automatic speech recognition. The DSP can handle small language models and voice AI models for improved natural language processing, aiming to enable real-time responses from voice assistants. The HiFi iQ is expected to be broadly available in the second quarter of 2026.
