Blood test detecting Long Covid in kids with 94% accuracy microclots

A blood test has been developed to detect Long Covid in children with 94% accuracy by identifying microclots in their blood samples. Long Covid symptoms in children can include fatigue, brain fog, pain, and shortness of breath. The test uses a microfluidic device to quantify microclots, showing significantly higher levels in pediatric Long Covid patients compared to healthy children. The test's accuracy is much higher than traditional methods, and it may offer a way to screen for Long Covid in larger populations and assess treatment responses. Additionally, patients with persistent SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in their blood had the highest microclot counts.
