AMD details Ryzen AI 400 desktop with up to 8 cores, Radeon 860M graphics — APUs won’t be available as boxed units, only in OEM systems

AMD has unveiled details about its Ryzen AI 400 desktop processors, featuring up to 8 cores and Radeon 860M graphics. These processors, part of the Gorgon Point lineup, are designed for power efficiency over peak performance and will not be available as boxed retail units, only in OEM systems. The lineup includes three processors with variations in core count, boost clock speeds, and cache amounts. These chips, based on Zen 5 architecture, come with a 65W TDP and will offer slightly higher performance compared to their mobile counterparts. AMD will initially offer these APUs in OEM systems with Copilot+ certification, focusing on enterprise use, and plans to release over 200 commercial designs with its PRO chips for both desktop and mobile platforms.
