After jumping 2,200% over the last twelve months, DDR4 spot prices fall 5%, the first decline in nearly a year — DDR5 pricing sees some relief in China channel market

DDR4 spot prices, which surged 2,200% in the past year, have now dropped by 5%, marking the first decline in nearly a year. This decrease brings the price of a 16GB DDR4 chip to around $74.10. Additionally, DDR5 pricing has also seen some relief in the Chinese channel market, with a comparable drop in prices. Despite these spot price changes, the contract market for memory sourcing by PC OEMs and system builders remains unaffected, with projected significant price increases for conventional DRAM and NAND Flash in the coming quarters.
