Admins finally get the power to uninstall Microsoft Copilot on Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, and EDU versions — devices must meet specific conditions to allow the removal of the AI app

Microsoft has introduced a new feature for Windows Insiders that allows administrators to uninstall the Microsoft Copilot app on managed devices running Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7535. Specific conditions must be met for the app to be removed, including the app not being installed by the user and not launched in the past 28 days. While admins can remove Microsoft Copilot, users will still have Microsoft 365 Copilot installed. Users can reinstall Copilot if desired. This change may benefit those who do not use AI tools extensively or prefer alternative AI models.
