A Trio of SoCs Deliver GenAI Support

MediaTek has introduced a trio of system-on-chips (SoCs) under its Genio family, all featuring the company's 8th-generation neural processing unit (NPU) to support generative AI models. The Genio 360/P offers enhanced value with additional Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores, supporting large language models. The Genio 420, built on TSMC's 6-nm process, boasts improved performance with Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores, supporting dual 2.5K or single UW5K60 displays. The premium Genio Pro 5100 utilizes TSMC's 3-nm technology, featuring eight big Arm cores and an NPU delivering over 50 TOPS of performance, along with advanced graphics capabilities. These SoCs cater to various applications, from mobile and embedded devices to industrial and robotic systems, with extended software support including compatibility with the Robot Operating System (ROS).
